English Ministry 2012
Psalm 23: To everything there is a season
2012 was our English Ministries year of seasons: much change and much reflection. Our Heavenly Father in his providence has blessed us through our year of many transitions. I believe that through all of this, the English congregation as a whole is realizing that their souls desire a deeply honest spiritual encounter. Our God is truly great!
Our ministry once again is transitioning more high school students to college but they are still faithful and come and participate.
Youth Group: Our group met for the majority of the time at the Pastor’s house, and we ranged anywhere from 5-10 kids. Much fun was had fellowshipping through games, movies and food. The focus was on prayer for each other and a time to set aside for them to be themselves and get to know eachother.
Summer Camp: A group of about nine of us spent some time this year hiking up to Sunrise. It was a great way for the group to draw closer to each other and to be strengths to one another during this extra special time.
Awana: Praise the Lord! Linda has taken Awana back over. Her skill set is such and the amount of operational duties required is a perfect fit. I pray that God blesses Linda with the vision to see the powerful work she does and the effect it is having for many, many years to come. And may this work draw her closer to our Lord.
Sunday School: We broke the groups into a Men’s and Women’s group. Van and I took the men’s group and Lisa and Elaine the women’s. I’m blessed to have both Van and Lisa back at the church, not only for their many abilities but for their deep desire to have a personal relationship with God. May their search encourage and inspire others.
English Service: A changing of time. We have experimented a lot this year with personnel. The biggest is with our worship leader Jon Dong moving. He has been a great leader both in his words and actions. He still keeps in touch a lot more than I would have expected and that is such a blessing. Van has taken over in his place as the worship leader. His great ability is getting people involved. We are going to see a very dynamic worship this year. May God be praised through it all!
I am eager to see what season the Lord has in store for us in the 2013. May his name be blessed in all that we do.
